Evidence before labels.
USDA provides native status by region and presence by state. A state presence record does not establish state nativity. This collection includes profiles with Region L48 Status N. DC uses the Lower 48 status. Alaska and Hawaii require their own regional Native status; territories are outside this collection.
Selection and claims
Profiles must have Rank Species and a tag-stripped ScientificName matching the candidate binomial followed by author text, with no hybrid multiplication sign (×). Profiles qualify only when NativeStatuses contains Region L48 with Status N. Mixed N and I profiles remain included, with all L48 statuses shown verbatim. State presence uses only United States distribution CSV rows with empty County and matching profile Symbol. County-only records are excluded. Names, durations and growth habits point to exact profile fields; scientific-name markup is displayed as plain text after removing tags.
Pet information
ASPCA terms prohibit automated access and republication without written permission. Configuration aspcaLicensed=false disables ASPCA matching for publication and all pet statuses. Only ASPCA can supply a pet flag; USDA never does. Consult the linked ASPCA list yourself.
Evidence checks
The offline build validates official source URLs, source references, cache confinement, SHA-256, supplied provenance, exact raw claim fields, regional gating, and complete state presence lists before replacing output. The USDA policy cache is a verbatim web excerpt, not a full HTTP response; its sidecar does not provide a user agent. No missing metadata is invented. No network requests are needed.
